ProQuest is a database platform with broad coverage within the fields of the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and medicine. You can choose to search one or more databases see more or search them all at once. It provides fulltext or bibliographic access to a wide range of scholarly journals, newspapers, conference proceedings, dissertations, books and other publications.

* = Truncation character (*) - retrieves variations of the search term. Use the truncation character at the end (right-hand truncation) or in the middle of search terms: farm*Finds: farm, farms, farmer, farming, colo*r Finds: colour, color.
? = replace any single character, either inside or at the right end of a word. Multiple wildcards can be used to represent multiple characters: nurse? Finds: nurse, nurses, and nursed.or sm?th Finds: smith and smyth.
Advanced Search: Combines words and fields with Boolean operations: AND, OR & NOT.
Thesaurus (Subject terms) Controlled subject index - used to find search terms, can ensure more accurate search.

Start your Search
- Enter search terms in the search box (Basic search), for example It systems - is the same as searching for it and systems.
- It is possible to mark if you want full text.
- or peer reviewed or both at the same time.
- Use quotation marks (“ ”) to search for an exact phrase. (“it systems”)
- Use truncation (*) if you can find enough.
- Use ADVANCED Search to create a search that is more precise. Combine words and fields with Boolean operators AND, OR & NOT and other functions.
The search can be narrowed to e.g. author, title or keyword:
Refine, print and export results
1. On the result page you can choose to see Abstract or Detailed view, and have these views translated to your own language.
2. You can narrow your number of search results by combining more search terms with AND.
3. You can limit your search results by: full text, source type, language, publication year ect. Narrowing produces a smaller, more specific set of results.
4. Re-run a previous search to combine searches. Recent searches remain available for your current session only. You will need to save a search to keep it available during future sessions.
ProQuest records each search that you conduct during your current session. This search history is presented on the Recent Searches page.
Once you’ve done at least one search during your session, an additional Recent searches link also displays on search page.
1. You can print your search results.
2. Export/Save document citations from the drop-down list as formatted text file, such as RIS, - to use for Mendeley ect.
Create account
If you want to save, manage, and organize the content and supporting materials you find and create in ProQuest, you need to create an account. You can save documents, searches, search alerts, RSS feeds, and more in My Research.
Important to know Your recent searches are not automatically saved beyond your current ProQuest session. To make them available for future sessions, you can: Save them to a My Research account.
